The blackbird – slideshow
When the blackbird sees its reflexion in the glass, it defends its territory from an unidentified intruder and the fight sets off a strange sort of ballet. This particular bird, which appeared at my window in december 2018, came back to fight its adversary for more than a month. Legend has it that when family members see a blackbird acting like this, they know that there will soon be a death in the household. My mother passed away on 9 march 2019.
